I had been doing Python web developing for a year before, and I had a good grasp of C, C++ and Java from university courses, so programming language was not an issue for me. I think you should take some basic programming language courses and at least a basic level Python to get started with these courses I mentioned. Although the Machine Learning course in Coursera is taught with Matlab, and they teach you what you need on the fly. So you can do them in parallel.
